Alec is a Chinese-American actor, producer, deviser, and movement director based in New York City. He has a BA in Theatre from Columbia College Chicago and has trained at London’s international drama school, Rose Bruford College.
As a mixed-race theatre-maker, he draws inspiration from international theatre, dance, and film, looking to create cross-cultural, interdisciplinary work on the American and world stages.
As Managing Director of Dutch Kills Theater Company, he champions new work, innovation, and emerging theatrical voices through care, community, and conviction.
As an actor, he has worked with directors of national and international acclaim including Chay Yew, Nia DaCosta, Joe Dowling, and David H. Bell. He teaches theatre and Shakespeare to children and young people through Child’s Play NY.

Alec’s recent producing credits with Dutch Kills Theater include: AFOOT (Adelaide Fringe Festival), TEMPING (Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival), In Corpo (Co-Production with The Assembly), and the Loose Leaf Reading and Development Series 2023.
